As we were able to choose who we wanted to work with and
choose our own music for the video I wanted to work with Tara because we both
listen to an artist on YouTube that has done English covers of Japanese theme
songs from different anime. Therefore, we decided on an anime that we have
both recently watched and the main theme song, this lead to us choosing
‘Crossing Field’ by ‘AmaLee’. The song for this video is about friendship and
love, so we decided that the live action would be the friendship and the anime
to so love and compassion. We wanted to make our music video a tribute to both
the artist and the anime so we have to search for some footage from the anime. The
anime that this song belongs to is ‘Sword Art Online’, using the opening theme
to this anime helps both me and Tara because we can use clips to help promote
the anime.

Editing
When we got to the editing room and put our footage on to
‘Avid’, I renamed the clips with lyrics from the song, so that I was going to
use the right clips and I can start to make a story, this was the start of my
raw footage so I knew at the start of the video I wanted a snap edit to change
from Tara to me to show the quick changes and that you friend is never far away
when you need them.
When putting all the correct clips together I was listening
to the song and watching as to where the clips should be placed because I didn’t
want any clips that would be out of sync with the music. Once I had done this
for the first verse I then chose certain words in the chorus that I wanted the anime
to represent for example when she sings ‘I’m knocked around or beaten down’, I wanted
I a clip of Kirito being knocked to the ground, this helps to link the music
with the anime.
